THE JUNIOR BRIDESMAID
Not young enough to be a flower girl; not quite old enough to play bridesmaid, so how do you dress her? Not exactly a new concept, junior bridesmaids have been gracing European Weddings for centuries where the bridal party is made up primarily of children ranging in age from about four to sixteen. So how does a girl between 8 and 16 dress? By fourteen she can probably go with or a least echo the adult bridesmaids. However, many I’ve seen 13 and under in the past few years look like crosses between Little Miss contestants and 1980s prom queens. Girls at nine in lipstick and heels don’t work for me. Sorry. So here are a few ideas that seem to embrace that happy time of girlhood between 8 and 13 . . .
